Portrait of a Digital Native Week 2

No doubt we are living in different times. Ms. Fear is currect from her point of view. If she has always multitasked during her studies, it is no different than driving, drinking coffee and having a conversation. The mind has the ability to put some tasks on autopilot, like talking or IMing a friend. While the consciuos mind works on the problem solving. Kids today are better at scanning digital information simple because they are the digital natives. I turned the channels on my tv as a kid, my kids use a computorized remote to change channels, record, split screens, mute, and play games on. Since students of today grow up with the technology their minds have developed differently than their parents. Like learning a new language it is easier to do the younger you are. I agree with using cell phones in school because they are mini computors and students will be using them in the real world everyday of their life. Since a teacher is suppose to prepare students for the real world, I see no reason for them not to be used in school. I know there are other issues like not every student can afford a cell phone, I just saying if it was possible I would not be against it.
