Educational Philosophies Self-Assessment Scoring Guide
From my assessment below it appears that I favor a Cognitivism/Constructivism philosophy, but most of the numbers were even throughout. I would say I favor different aspects of each philosophy differently. There are some things I liked about all the philosophies, so my philosophy is that it is all good and useful at different times for different students. I don’t see myself teaching within one philosophical realm, but using the different philosophies to benefit my students in the best means possible. I see the importance that each may have a role in the education process. These educational philosophies should be woven like a rope, each individual strand (educational philosophy) intertwined with the other creating a stronger rope from the addition of each other.
Pat,
ReplyDeleteI like your reference to the rope. I am with you that I appreciate aspects from different philosophies, and that bits of them together will make for a stronger foundation for the teacher and the students.
Susan.
